This training is an introduction to Human Rights First's and the Welcome Legal Alliance's 4-Part Asylum Clinic series. The 4-Part clinics are established to assist legal service providers in supporting Afghan applicants with their asylum applications. The introduction covers a high-level look at asylum law, the asylum application process, the structure of the clinics, and other helpful information (cultural competency, working with interpreters, working with trauma survivors).

The Welcome Legal Alliance is a collaborative project among the American Immigration Council, ABA COI, Rights First, VECINA, and Welcome.US to serve Afghan asylum seekers with volunteer legal assistance (both limited and full scope representation) in preparing and filing their applications before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
